What happens if I cannot get the visa before semester starts?
UST Regulation writes a student who cannot attend school for longer than 30 school days may apply for leave of absence. However, it may differ by each case, so please make sure to counsel with your advisor and UST staff in charge of VISA issues.
What if my visa application gets rejected?
Although rare, sometime student visa can be rejected, and it is not possible to know why. When the visa application rejected, the applicant need to wait 3-6 months before making another application. When this happens, please make sure to counsel with your local Korean embassy as well as UST staff in charge of VISA.

I heard that I need to report my status change to the immigration office. What is it and when should I do it?
When the following situation happens, you must report it to the immigration office within 14 days of occurrence: lost, stolen, or damaged ARC, change of name, sex, birthdate, nationality, passport number, change of school name, and change of residence address (Find more information at HiKorea)
Failing to report within due date can result if hefty fines and other penalties.
What to do with my ARC when I depart from Korea due to leave of absence or graduation?
Your student visa allows you to stay and study in Korea, and this may be ended when your reason to stay expires.
This applies to graduation, leave of absence or expiry of sojourn period. When an ARC holder departs Korea, the ARC must be returned at the airport. Failing to return ARC may result in hefty fines and other penalties.
